Education
The field of education is represented by many historic sites in Prince George’s County, from the one-room schoolhouse to the state university. Examples include Friendly School, Seabrook School, and Berwyn Heights Schoolhouse. Other examples include surviving Rosenwald schools built for African-American students in rural areas in the 1920s and 1930s.
Law
Many important Prince Georgians achieved high status in the field of law and their houses and offices survive as reminders of their accomplishments along with the prominence of the Upper Marlboro bar. The Marietta House Museum is the former home of the late U.S. Supreme Court Justice Gabriel Duvall.
Special activities, programs, and events are held at our Historic sites throughout the year.
